Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): Laparoscopic fundoplication is a procedure used to treat severe GERD by wrapping the upper part of the stomach around the lower esophagus to prevent stomach acid from flowing back into the esophagus.
Colorectal Conditions: Laparoscopic surgery can be used to treat various conditions affecting the colon and rectum, including diverticulitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and colorectal cancer. Procedures like colectomy and proctectomy can be performed laparoscopically.
Obesity Surgery: Laparoscopic procedures such as gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy are used in bariatric surgery to help people with severe obesity lose weight.
Liver and Pancreatic Surgeries: Some liver and pancreatic surgeries, such as biopsy or cyst removal, can also be performed laparoscopically in certain cases.
